Rawalpindi Food Street offers variety of delicacies
ISLAMABAD: Food businesses seldom face slumps and the rising trend of food streets in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi has introduced a healthy culture for middle class families.

The Rawalpindi Food Street offers a variety of traditional dishes as well as a perfect place for formal and informal gatherings. Members of middle class society prefer the food street, as the food is more affordable to them as compared to posh restaurants and hotels.

Shahbaz Alvi a visitor of Rawalpindi Food Street said "I always prefer to go to the food street with my friends. It is very economical to enjoy a delicious food.

The same food offered at posh restaurants is much more costly than that at food street. Sabtain Abbas a frequent visitor of the food street said that it is usually difficult to find space in the food street during rush hours. At noon, a majority of the visitors are office workers, while at night families are there to enjoy an open-air atmosphere; diners chat and discuss routine matters.

Muhammad Ramazan a proprietor of a "pulao kabab" shop in Rawalpindi Food Street said "we usually face problems on weekends and public holidays when there is a huge rush of visitors".

"We cannot arrange extra seats for customers because of the shortage of space which force many customers to go back without eating here," he added.
