Lahore Qalandars out to hunt talent in DG Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN: The float of Jazz rising star Lahore Qalandars has been in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan to hunt new talent after thousands of young cricketers got themselves registered for the trials.

Nearly 7000 young cricketers from rural and urban areas of DG Khan have got themselves registered for the trials, aspiring to join Lahore Qalandars, one of the five franchises of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Hundreds of players appeared in trials on the first of day of camp at Qadria Ground here.

"The youth in DG Khan is extremely talented as far as cricket is concerned," said Aaqib Javed, director operations cricket of Lahore Qalandars, while speaking to Geo News.

Qalandars' icon Mudassir Nazar said the talent was lying hidden here, which the franchise is now bringing to light.

The PSL franchise will organise a cricket tournament in Lahore after selecting 16-member teams from eight major cities across Punjab.

Qalandars will hunt talent in the tournament to pick skilled cricketers for its final squad.
