COAS Raheel Sharif, Imran Khan meet in Mardan

MARDAN: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman (PTI) Imran Khan met at the helipad of Mardan airbase on Friday.

According to sources, the COAS and PTI chief agreed upon eliminating the scourge of terrorism.

The Army Chief and Imran Khan discussed contemporary situation after at least 13 people were killed and 35 injured when two bomb blasts hit the district court.

The meeting took place when Imran Khan arrived at Mardan airbase and COAS was leaving.

Sources said that the meeting continued for 12 minutes.

Sources said that Sharif and Imran both discussed Operation Zarb-e-Azb as well.

The COAS was flanked by Corps Commander Peshawar, whereas, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accompanied the PTI chief.

Imran Khan upon his visit, met with the injured of today’s blast in Mardan.

Imran Khan afterwards talked to Geo News and said that the policemen saved people from massive destruction and gave up their lives instead.

The Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif had earlier visited victims of the bomb blasts at the district court.

The army chief met the injured at the Mardan Medical Complex where they had been brought for treatment.
