MARDAN: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar visited injured of the Mardan suicide attack on Saturday.
Speaking to the media after the visit he said terrorists are now attacking easy targets like Peshawar and Mardan.
After 2013 the nation got together against terrorists and formed a policy, he said.
Speaking about the success of his government’s operation against terrorists he said, “Earlier there were four to five bomb blasts every day. A bomb blast was never news. A day where there was no bomb blast made it to the news.”
Elaborating his point he said, “Terrorists have been eliminated from Pakistan. Now we have to eliminate the facilitators.”
“The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are resilient. I did not see hopelessness on any face,” he said.
The minister said that the war on terror had not ended. “We have to bring it to its logical end,” he said.
He added that the federal government was sharing intelligence reports with the provinces. “Security agencies have already won the battle. It is the psychological war which we need to win,” he said.
He said that the nation should join hands to defeat terrorism.
He added that terrorists were hiding at the Afghan border. “Now we need to eliminate those terrorists.”
He said that the loss of lives in the Mardan attack could not be repaid however the victims will be provided financial compensation.
The interior minister said that they had information about the attack at Peshawar’s Christian Colony. “The terrorists had arrived in three groups,” he said.
At least 13 were killed and 35 injured when two bomb blasts hit the District Courts here on Friday. Two policemen and four lawyers were among those killed in the attack.
