Five of a family shot dead in Gujrat village

GUJRAT: Five members of the same family were shot to death in Gujrat village of Moinuddin Pur on Monday, police said.

A man named Tasawur Hussain, his wife and three children were killed in their sleep when unknown assailants broke into their house in the village of Moinuddin Pur early Monday morning and opened fire at them, according to DPO Gujrat.

Police cited enmity between two groups in the family as the motive behind the murders. Several people have fallen victims to such disputes in the past, according to DPO Gujrat.

All five died on the spot. The children’s ages ranged between 12 and 17.

Dead bodies of the victims were transferred to DHQ Hospital for post-mortem. No case has been registered against the incident yet.
