A river outside the Arctic Russian city of Norilsk has mysteriously turned blood-red, puzzling locals and prompting authorities to launch investigation into the matter, The Siberian Times reported.
Social media images show the Daldykan River turned into a disturbing shade of red. Locals claim pollution from the nearby Nadezhdinsky factory is to blame for the transformation. The factory, also known as Nadezhda Metallurgical Plant, processes nickel concentrate.
