LAHORE: Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahirul Qadri said on Friday that there’s a dire need of an operation in Punjab, adding that the country’s integrity is in danger.
The PAT chairman was holding a news conference in Minhajul Quran Secretariat, where he said that Rangers and Army should do a combined operation in the province.
He alleged that 300 Indian agents are working in the sugar mills of Sharif brothers.
He further claimed “on Wagah border, custom officials are not allowed to check their luggage.”
Managing Director (MD) Sharif Group of Industries, Yousaf Abbas Sharif in response to the allegations said that not a single Indian is working in Sharif family sugar mill.
In a statement, Mr. Yousaf Abbas Sharif said the mill was established in 1992 and at present has over 1,100 employees all of whom are Pakistanis.
The MD of Sharif Group of Industries said TahirulQadri was a proven liar and he would be sent a defamation notice and taken to court.
Interestingly, Tahirul Qadri visited the Indian state of Gujarat in 2012, when Narendra Modi was the chief minister.
He stayed as a ‘state guest’ during his visit to Gujarat.
Qadri had earlier said that 100% of his party workers wanted to stage protest in Raiwind, adding that they want qisas (compensation) for the Model Town carnage.
