ISLAMABAD: A cross section of society has said that Pakistan Railways decision to reduce its fare by 25 percent on Eid-ul-Azha holidays would encourage passengers to use this mode of travel.
The majority of middle class passengers hailed the decision of Pakistan Railways (PR).
It is pertinent to mention here that PR had announced 25 percent concession in railway fares on second and third days of Eid-ul-Azha.
Aqib Saleem a passenger who went to Rawalpindi railway station for booking his seats for Karachi told APP the latest initiative of PR would help increase the number of passengers as people love to travel on train.
Another passenger Muhammad Ali said that rail is a cheapest and safest mode of travel but in the last many years it was ignored.
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has taken many positive initiatives to attract passengers immediately after assuming charge of the ministry he said.
A family travelling to Lahore said train was the best mode of journey with children and reduction of fare would help PR to earn more money.
