MULTAN: Five suspects were killed during an alleged police encounter in Multan on Saturday night.
According to police, the suspects were involved in Rs10 million bank robbery in the city on March 27.
They said that three of the arrested suspects were being taken to recover the money. However, the other accomplices of the suspects intercepted the police vehicle and opened fire.
Police said that five robbers were killed on the spot in retaliatory firing while few others managed to escape.
A search operation was underway for the arrest of escaped suspects.
The dead robbers belonged to Dera Murad Jamali, Dadu, Shikarpur, Sukkur and Nawabshah.
