ISLAMABAD: There will be no loadshedding during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha holidays, sources at the Ministry of Water and Power have revealed to Geo News.
Loadshedding will not take place after 6PM from today (Monday) across the country including major cities such as Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.
The government had announced three day Eid-ul-Azha holidays from September 12-14.
A spokesman for K-Electric confirmed that there would be no loadshedding in Karachi, adding that staff would be deployed during the holidays on 24 hour shifts. The spokesman further said residents of the city could call 118 if there was a power failure in their area.
Pakistan will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on Tuesday with prayers offered in mosques across the country. In Islamabad the main Eid congregation will be held at Faisal Mosque.
