MIAN CHANNU: A woman was among two people killed in the name of honour. According to DSP Malik Tahir Majid, the woman and man were hung from a tree.

The DSP told Geo News the woman’s husband, father and brother have been arrested in connection with the murders and have confessed to the crime.  

The DSP added that the woman was a mother of three and the man murdered was her cousin. The initial report of the murders has been lodged and further investigation is underway.

Every year hundreds of woman are murdered in Pakistan, often by their own relatives in the name of honour. 

Two cases which have garnered the attention of international media are that of Samia Shahid the British-Pakistani who was allegedly killed by her first husband in Jhelum and Qandeel Baloch the social media celebrity killed by her brother.
