CHAMAN: An explosion rocked Taj road in Chaman, Balochistan killing one child and injuring 12 others on Sunday afternoon.
According to sources, the explosion took place in the parking area of a Hindu shrine in Chaman. DPO Chaman, Asad Khan told Geo News, that the explosive material was planted in a vehicle.
The DPO added, that nine people were injured in the attack including an eight-year-old child who did not survive the injuries and expired enroute to the hospital.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Chaman. Sources confirm that emergency has been declared at hospitals in the area.
The intensity of the explosion shattered windows of nearby buildings and damaged vehicles parked in the vicinity. Security forces have cordoned off the area while the Bomb Disposal Unit is collecting evidence for further investigation.
