Kashmiri student expelled over Facebook post from Aligarh University

A Facebook post which was termed ‘objectionable’ led to the expulsion of a Kashmiri student from the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Student Mudassar Yusuf a resident of Srinagar had apologised to the university’s Vice Chancellor for his Facebook post which was over the attack in Indian Occupied Kashmir.  Mudassar was pursuing his MSc in Organic Chemistry.

BJP Lok Sabha Member from Aligarh, Satish Kumar Gautam had also written to the Vice Chancellor demanding stringent action against the student for his Facebook post.

17 soldiers were killed in an attack on Sunday at an Indian army base in Uri. Indian atrocities continue in the occupied valley and have resulted in the death of over 100 Kashmiris' during the last 74 days.  

Earlier in 2014, a University in Meerut, Uttar Pardesh expelled 67 Kashmiri students for cheering for Pakistan in a match against India. The expulsion was later revoked.
