Finance Minister Ishaq Dar calls on COAS General Raheel Sharif

RAWALPINDI: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday at GHQ.

According to ISPR, financing matters related to capacity building for effective Pak-Afghan border management including raising of fresh 29 Civil Armed Forces wings were discussed.  

COAS speaks to PM Nawaz

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif spoke to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ahead of the premier’s scheduled address in the UNGA General Debate on Wednesday, sources told Geo News.

According to sources, COAS and PM discussed the regional situation during their conversation.

Director News Geo News Rana Jawad termed it a significant development, saying that after Uri attack, in which at least 17 Indian soldiers were killed, India has been threatening Pakistan.

He said that phone call means that the situation was serious.
