ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has tweeted images of air force jets taking off from motorways.

In his tweet the defence minister writes: “The defenders or our skies, in a state of constant readiness, Alhamdolillah. Our motorways are our runways”.

The minister’s tweet comes at a time when tensions are high between Pakistan and India over the issue of occupied Kashmir. Pakistan has raised the issue of human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir in the international forum. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also presented proof of violations in the UN.

India has without any proof accused Pakistan of involvement in an attack on an army base in Occupied Kashmir.

Since July, over 115 Kashmiris have been killed as a result of Indian atrocities while thousands have been injured.
