Om Puri and Mahesh Bhatt support Pakistani artists in India

After Salman Khan, actor Om Puri and director Mahesh Bhatt too have spoken out in favor of the Pakistani artists.

Om Puri, while speaking to Indian media when asked about his views on whether the ban on Pakistani artists was justified, said, “I would like to inform the Indian Government that I have visited Pakistan six times.”

He said that Pakistani artists are not terrorists.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt too stood up in support and said, “Eradicate terrorism not negotiations and peace.”

He went on to say, “Few militant elements should not be allowed to decide the future of peace-loving nations of both the countries.”

After the Uri attacks, the Indian Motion Pictures Production Association in a resolution barred Pakistani artists from across the border from carrying their activities in the backdrop of escalating tensions between the two countries.
