ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Monday that they (PPP) supported the government on the Kashmir issue.
Speaking at the parliamentary parties meeting, Bilawal said the PPP stood shoulder to shoulder with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif when it came to Indian aggression.
According to Bilawal, there was a need for unity to tackle the issue of Indian aggression. The PPP chairman also said there was no military solution to the Kashmir issue.
Bilawal thanked the prime minister for the invitation to the meeting, adding that the issues being discussed were of the utmost importance.
Tensions between Indian and Pakistan have soared in the aftermath of Indian aggression at the Line of Control (LoC). India has violated the ceaserfire agreement and in one act of aggression two Pakistani soldiers were martyred in what India claimed was a ‘surgical strike’. Pakistan dismissed this claim and Indian has not provided any evidence to substantiate it.
Pakistan has also been raising the issue of Indian army atrocities in occupied Kashmir where since July over 115 Kashmiris have been martyred. The situation deteriorated in Kashmir following the death of separatist leader Burhan Wani by Indian forces.
