QUETTA: Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Thursday formed a judicial commission to investigate the August 8 Quetta Civil Hospital tragedy which claimed more than 70 lives.
The judicial commission, headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa, will present a report on the incident in a month’s time.
Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer said there has been headway in the investigations which is an encouraging sign.
On Tuesday the Supreme Court Quetta registry heard the Civil Hospital tragedy suo moto case. Chief Secretary, IG Police, and the Health Department had presented the investigation report to the court. Justice Amir Hani Muslim had asked for suspension of the medical superintendent, who he said was nominated in the crime.
Last month the Balochistan government had constituted a judicial commission to probe the tragedy. The commission will submit its report within 60 days to the Balochistan government.
