Indian director removes Fawad Khan from MS Dhoni biopic

In what was termed by director Neeraj Pandey as a measure to prevent extremist reaction, Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s scenes in the upcoming biopic of MS Dhoni were cut.

According to reports, Fawad Khan was supposed to play the role of Virat Kohli in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’

Indian media quoting a source who worked on the film said the director did not want any negative publicity around the film and even though Fawad Khan’s character was an integral part, he was cut.

Following the Uri attack, Pakistani artistes working in India have been threatened by extremist parties. The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) also banned Pakistani artistes from working in the industry.

Fawad Khan has also been left out of the promotion plans for ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ due to the backlash he is facing in India.
