Rasheed fails to get Qadri agreed on participation in PTI sit-in

LONDON: Head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed on Sunday paid a call on Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri and held a detailed discussion on situation back home as well as PTI sit-in in Islamabad, sources said.

Sources said when asked to participate in the PTI sit-in, Qadri did not answer Rasheed in the affirmative. The PAT chief also did not express his wish to hold a meeting with PTI leader Jahangir Tareen, who too is in London currently.

The AML chief offered Qadri to work out matters through mutual consultation, to which the latter responded seeking some time.

On Sunday, PTI leaders Jahangir Tareen and Chaudhry Sarwar arrived in London, reportedly to reach an accord with PAT with regard to participation in Islamabad protest.

When asked, they denied having any knowledge of the 'London plan', adding they were on a private tour and did not intend to meet any political figure.

PTI has given a call for a protest in Islamabad on October 30, in a final showdown aimed at forcing PM Nawaz to step down and present himself for accountability in the wake of Panama Papers disclosures.
