Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army Chief General Raheel Sharif met on Monday to discuss national and regional security at the PM House.
During the meeting three issues were discussed between Prime Minister Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel.
According to sources, the two discussed Pakistan-India border tensions in light of Indian aggression at the Line of Control (LoC). The prime minister expressed confidence in the response given by the Pakistan Army against this aggression.
The second point of discussion was pertaining to Afghanistan and the situation at the western border.
The PM and COAS also discussed operation Zarb-e-Azb and implementation of National Action Plan (NAP). The prime minister was given a detailed account NAP implementation by security forces.
Meanwhile, sources said the army chief apprised the premier of corps commanders' concern pertaining to the feeding of a story to an English-language daily, which was deemed against the national security.
"The recent corps commanders conference expressed serious concern over the feeding of the 'fabricated story' and termed it an act against the national security," sources quoted Gen Sharif as saying.
