KARACHI: The tug-of-war between two factions of Pakistan Football Federation has pushed country’s Football to another rock-bottom with Pakistan slipping down to worst ever 197th position.
The fresh football rankings, issued by FIFA on Thursday, showed Pakistan slipping down three positions from previous worst 194th, to the worst ever 197th position.
Pakistan is mow the second worst side in Asia, only better than Mangolia, placed at 202.
The national Football team of Pakistan hasn’t played any international game since March last year, while PFF remains in turmoil since the controversial elections held in June last year, resulting the decline in Pakistan’s FIFA ranking from 180th last year to 197th this year.
Although, FIFA has accepted the faction led by Faisal Saleh Hayat as elected body to represent Pakistan at FIFA, the offices and accounts of PFF are controlled by the administrator appointed on court’s order.
