KARACHI: Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday said that if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan really cares about Pakistan, he should stop raising hue and cry over his discontent with the government during times when Indian forces carry out unprovoked firing across the border.
Pervaiz Rashid was responding to Imran Khan’s recent comment that incidents of firing across the Line of Control (LoC) happen to distract public attention from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
In clear reference to Imran Khan, the minister vowed that those intending to interfere in the government’s workings on November 2 would be prevented from carrying out their ambitions by means of law.
Pervaiz Rashid said that the decision over Panama Papers should take place in the court of law, not in the streets. “Decisions taken in the streets have been harming Pakistan for a long time,” he said.
He called on Imran Khan to wait for the Supreme Court’s decision on the Panama Papers issue.
“We would definitely appear before the court so that Imran Khan can be proven a liar,” the minister said.
Earlier today Pervaiz Rashid visited the residence of renowned Qawwal, the late Amjad Sabri, in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area where he expressed his condolences with his family and handed over a check of Rs. 10 million on the instruction of the prime minister.
On June 22, Amjad Sabri was gunned down by unknown assailants in Liaquatabad area. He was shot multiple times and succumbed to his wounds on his way to a local hospital, according to police.
