QUETTA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif postponed all official duties and arrived in Quetta following the attack on the police training centre.
Upon his arrival, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the Civil Hospital where those injured in the attack are being treated. During the prime minister's visit, the Army chief was also present at the hospital.
The prime minister is being accompanied by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri and other officials.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is expected to chair a special meeting to review the law and order situation of the city after the attack in which 61 security personnel were martyred.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on late Monday night strongly condemned attack on Police Training Centre in Quetta and instructed the authorities to ensure safety of police recruits.
According to a press statement, PM Nawaz expressed concerns over the attack and directed the federal and provincial security agencies to bring the perpetrators to task.
PM directed the interior ministry and Balochistan government to keep him informed on the developments of the incident.
On Monday night, three terrorists stormed the Police Training Centre located at Sariab Road in Quetta and opened fire. 61 security personnel were martyred in the attack and in the ensuing operation by security forces three terrorists were killed.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri also condemned the attack and said that the perpetrators would be brought to book.
