QUETTA: Chief of Amry Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif arrived in Quetta on Tuesday following an attack on the police training centre in which 61 security personnel were martyred.
The Army chief along with the chief minister of Balochistan and other officials offered funeral prayers for some of the martyrs of the attack and a Pakistan Army Captain who had embraced martyrdom in the ensuing operation at the police training centre.
The martyred will be laid to rest in their hometowns.
The Army chief is being accompanied by DG ISI Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar and DG Military Intelligence Major General Nadeem Zaki Manj.
Earlier, COAS General Raheel Sharif visited the site of the tragedy - the police training centre in Quetta - under strict security. The Army chief appreciated the bravery of security personnel and said it was through their efforts that more lives were not lost.
