Pakistani batsman Younis Khan moved up three places to second position in the latest ICC player rankings for Test batsman following Pakistan’s win against West Indies in Abu Dhabi.
Younis had missed the day-night test in Dubai due to illness, but performed well in the second test with a century in the first innings.
The Pakistani batsman passed New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, England batsman Joe Root and South Africa’s Hashim Amla to get to the number two spot. Younis is 46 points behind Australia’s Steve Smith.
In March 2009, Younis claimed the number one ranking after scoring a triple century against Sri Lanka in Lahore.
