LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent a legal notice for Rs 26 billion to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan for slander.
The legal notice was sent on Friday by Sharif’s lawyer to Imran Khan’s Lahore residence in Zaman Park, Islamabad residence Bani Gala and the PTI headquarters.
Imran Khan had earlier accused Shehbaz Sharif of corruption.
In a press conference on October 26, Imran Khan had alleged that the Sharif brothers were using their frontman Javed Sadiq for illegal activities. The PTI chief said Shehbaz Sharif’s alleged frontman had received Rs 15 billion in commission to date. He also released pictures of Sadiq.
“Our rulers think corruption is legal and protest is illegal,” Khan said, adding that IMF chief had warned that no investment would flow into Pakistan until corruption is eliminated.
