Swabi suicide blast kills one police, injures 5 others

SWABI: At least a police personnel lost his life and five others were injured in a suicide attack in Police Lines in Swabi, Geo News reported Monday.

Talking to Geo News, DPO Swabi Dr Zeeshan said the attack was a suicidal; the attacker was trying to force into Police Lines, when he was intercepted by a police positioned there. The intruder blew himself up during the search.

At least five police personnel including an inspector are injured in the attack at the gate of Shah Mansoor Police Lines, the police official said.

According to Geo News, the attacker hurled grenade attack before he tried to enter the Lines.

The exchange fire in police and unidentified miscreants also ensued after grenade attack.

The police in large number arrived in the area and put security cordon around the area.

The injured have been transported to the DHQ hospital. The police sources said the saboteurs fired gunshots at the injured when they were being shifted to the hospital.
