Workers killed due to excessive use of 'expired' tear gas: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed on Tuesday two of its workers were killed due to tear gas shelling by police as they attempted to march on Islamabad.

PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi says two party workers died due to excessive use of 'expired' tear gas shells by authorities, citing that as a reason for KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak turning back.

Qureshi criticized the Punjab chief minister claiming Shahbaz Sharif had invited Khattak and then blocked his path with a wall of containers diving the two provinces.

Meanwhile PTI Chairman Imran Khan announced that if it is confirmed that party workers were killed then a case will be registered against CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.

The PTI chairman's statement comes in light of confusion that emanated from the PTI camp regarding the death of a PTI worker that was first being attributed to police shelling.
