Three including 2 police dead in Swabi attack

SWABI: At least three people including two police personnel lost their lives and five others were injured in a suicide attack in Police Lines in Swabi, Geo News reported Monday.

Two suicide bombers were killed in the attack at the main entrance of Police Lines Swabi.

Talking to Geo News, DIG Mardan Region Abdullah Khan said four armed attackers wanted to enter Police Lines; however, spotting them, the police deployed there opened fire on them.

Finding no getting away, a suicide bomber blew him up, killing two police personnel and a passer-by.

The police put security cordon around the area and commenced search operation.

According to the DIG, another attacker, wearing a suicide vest, was gunned down during search operation.

The police official likened the Swabi Police Lines attack to that in Manawan.

The search for two other attackers is in progress, he added.
