Suspect killed, 13 others held in Karachi

KARACHI: A suspect was killed in an alleged encounter with police late on Thursday night, while 13 others were held during a search operation in Karachi's Baldia Town.

Police conducted a raid in Keemari's Jackson area late Thursday that led to an exchange of fire with a suspect, officials said. In retaliation, the suspect identified as Israr was killed.

They said the suspect was wanted in four different cases.

Meanwhile, the law enforcers conducted house-to-house search in Gulshan-e-Ghazi area of Baldia Town and nabbed 13 suspected people during the operations. They were moved to police station for further interrogation.

In Gizri, 40 youths were arrested for one-wheeling on motorbikes. Police also confiscated the motorcycles.
