Female Messi? Barcelona striker’s wonder goal takes internet by storm

Barbara Latorre is the name.

The Barcelona Women striker has taken the internet by storm with her incredible solo goal that has drawn comparisons between her and Lionel Messi.

Latorre scored a wonder goal in last week's women's first division city derby against Espanyol, where she bolted past six defenders to lodge the ball in the right-hand corner, taking Barca to a 6-1 win.

She remained unfazed even after being tripped by the fifth defender.

FC Barcelona star Gerard Pique was so impressed he took to Twitter to compare her to his teammate Messi and the club's former Brazilian star Ronaldo.

"It started like Leo's goal against Getafe and ended like Ronaldo's in Compostela," Pique tweeted, referring to Ronaldo's remarkable goal 20 years ago against Compostela.
