Twin boys Anias and Jadon Mc Donald, who were born conjoined, began a new life apart after a successful 27-hour-long surgery on Thursday in a New York Hospital.

The 13-month-old boys were born joined at the head. The surgery to separate them took 16 hours followed by reconstructive surgery to mend their skull.

Jadon was the first to be done at 7:40 am. He was wheeled out of the operation theater with a bandaged head to visibly emotional parents, the CNN reported.

Five hours later they finished operating Anias.

The parents Nicole and Christian had to make the difficult decision as 80 percent conjoined twins at the head die by two years of age. The surgery was risky and if complications rose could also cause death.

After the story first broke on news channels people came out to support the twins. Donations poured in for the family through their GoFundMe page. The parents are now writing Thank You letters to all the people who helped. They claim there faith in mankind has been restored.
