KARACHI: A traffic police official was shot dead in a targeted attack on Sunday in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh.
According to police, DSP Traffic Faiz Shigri was gunned down when he was stepping out from his flat near Aladdin Park.
SSP Gulshan Dr Fahad said that two others were also injured in the incident including the gunman and driver of the DSP.
He said that the attackers were riding a motorcycle, adding that investigation in this regard is underway.
In another incident, DSP Gulberg Zafar Hussain was targetted on University Road. However, the police official remained unharmed in the incident.
In a separate incident, a man was shot dead in an apparent target-killing incident in metropolis' Kaneez Fatima locality.
The man was identified as flour mill manager Sajid Sheikh.
In September, unknown attackers opened fire and killed a traffic police sub-inspector at Five Star Chowrangi.
According to police, two motorcycle-riding assailants opened fire on him. Following the incident, the attacker fled from the spot.
In May, two policemen were killed near Ayesha Manzil while performing their duty.
According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers came riding a motorcycle and fled with the policeman's official weapon after the attack.
