One terror attack, three claimants

Once again three different banned organisations claimed responsibility for Monday night terror incident in Karachi.

On November 27, a traffic police DSP was gunned down in the limits of Shahra-e-Faisal Police Station near Aladin Park Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

DSP Faiz Ali Shigri was returning home from the office when he was ambushed near his apartment building. His gunman and driver also received bullets but survived.

Banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Almi, Daesh (Islamic State) and Jamat-ul-Ahrar (JA) took the credit of the attack.

It is not the first time that different militant outfits claiming responsibility for a single incident.

A couple of months back on August 8, Daesh, Jamat-ul-Ahrar and TTP Hakimullah Mehsud group took the responsibility of the deadly attack in Civil Hospital Quetta where 72 people lost their lives. Among killed included a large number of lawyer fraternity members.

Later on October 24, three suicide attackers stormed at Quetta Police Training Centre (PTC) where at least 61 cadets were killed. This time two organisations raised their hands; Daesh and TTP, whereas, in post attack media briefing, IG Frontier Corps (FC) disclosed that the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangi Al-Almi was the actual perpetrator of the episode.

On November 11 this year, the interior ministry proscribed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Almi (LeJA) and Jamat-ul-Ahrar (JuA). Last year Daesh was also declared outlawed by the ministry on July 15.
