Rehman visits Jinnah Ground in Karachi

KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik inspected Jinnah Ground, Azizabad area where funeral prayer of slain MQM leader Dr. Imran Farooq is to be held on Saturday.

He witnessed overall arrangements put in place for the funeral prayer and burial of Dr. Imran Farooq whose body will reach from London to Karachi on Saturday morning.

Rehman Malik reached Jinnah Ground in helicopter where he was briefed about the funeral arrangements by Deputy Convener of MQM Coordination Committee Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, members Dr. Saghir Ahmed, Ashfaq Mangi, Iftikhar Akbar Randha, Gulfaraz Khan Khattak and provincial minister Rauf Siddiqui.

The Interior Minister closely inspected the security arrangements put in place in Jinnah Ground and issued necessary instructions to the concerned authorities for ensuring stringent security in and around the venue of funeral prayer.

Later, he visited Haq Parast Shuhda Graveyard in Azizabad and offered Fateha for the Eisal-e-Sawab of the departed souls.
