Govt did nothing to bring Musharraf back: Kaira

SUKKUR: Former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira on Monday said that the government did not take a single step to bring former president Pervez Musharraf back to Pakistan, despite court orders summoning him back.

The Pakistan People’s Party leader Kaira was addressing a press conference in Garhi Khuda Baksh.

“When Musharraf was leaving, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar made tall claims,” said Kaira, adding that clamping down on the powerful is beyond the interior minister’s reach.

“Interior Minister where are your red warrants?” he said.

The PPP leader while referring to party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s four demands said that if the government did not accept them, then the PPP would also consider protesting alongside Opposition.

Kaira commented on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, saying that he should not have gone to courts over the subject of Panama Leaks and courts should have been made stronger.

“Imran has learnt his lesson, now he’s talking about protest,” said Kaira.

He also criticised State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb saying that she should give statements sensibly.

Kaira said that Sindh government is implementing the National Action Plan but the Punjab government isn’t.

On Sunday, Marriyum Aurangzeb had said that Bilawal should put forth his four demands to the Sindh government. She had said that there is no place for politics of containers and anarchy in the country.
