LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed that all cases framed against ulema in era of former President Gen (rtd) Pervez Musharraf, be put to an end, Geo News reported Sunday.
This he said while meeting ulema and mashaikh here.
Urging the people belonging to all walks of life to play their role against terrorism, the Chief Minister informed the ulema that the system meant for protection of shrines of religious saints, has been hammered out.
Shahbaz Sharif said the government is fully cognizant of its responsibilities in connection with the security of shrines.
The CM Sharif directed the concerned authorities to see about removing malicious wall chalking and that all the cases filed against ulema during Musharraf era be abolished during the next 48 hours.
