Super Mario, a fictional character in the Mario video game franchise, owned by Nintendo, will be available on IOS from Thursday.
Not only will it be the first time Nintendo has released a Mario game for a piece of hardware it did not build, but the title has also received an unprecedented amount of publicity from Apple.
Talking about the game, the Forbes reported that Super Mario Run is an auto-runner: basically, the levels look more or less like the Mario levels you remember, but the plumber moves forward at all times, as if you were playing the original games with one finger on the d-pad, never letting go.
Report said that It's a game that feels like Mario, with all the meticulous precision that has characterised the series since the Donkey Kong. The app store is frequently a free-wheeling place, where developers throw out all sorts of weird ideas and unfinished products to see what works, figuring things can always be tweaked post-release. This is not really how Nintendo operates: Super Mario Run appears, so far, to be an intensely crafted affair.
The report further said that the game also shifts from industry norms by not using the popular free to play, microtransaction-supported model.
You can download and play a trial version for free, but upgrading to the full game will cost you $10.
