HYDERABAD: Sindh Rangers on Friday killed a suicide jacket-wearing terrorist in retaliatory firing after a cracker blast on the vehicle of the paramilitary force.

Rangers’ vehicle was on routine patrol in Latifabad 11 when two terrorists riding a motorcycle attacked it. Rangers personnel responded immediately, killing one of them while the other managed to escape.

The terrorist was wearing a suicide jacket which was later defused by Bomb Disposal Squad personnel.

BDS In-charge Ramzan Panhwar told APP that their team defused the jacket which was connected with a detonator in over an hour long exercise.

“The explosive material had been sent to the forensic lab for the test”, he added.

According to Panhwar, a cracker and a pistol was also found near the dead body which was cleared after removing the jacket tied to him.

“There were six pockets in the jacket each filled with the explosives”, he said.

He told that a team of two BDS personnel engaged in the task which was carried out in the Amani Shah graveyard.

Meanwhile, a police spokesman told that the fingerprints of the terrorist were taken and sent to NADRA to ascertain his identity.

“The slain person appeared in his early twenties”, he added.
