FAISALABAD: Sui Gas officials said gas supply to the industries in Faisalabad would be suspended for two days under gas load management, Geo News reported Monday.
Meantime, the industrialists have spurned this decision with heightened tensions between the two parties.
It should be mentioned here that industrial organizations in the city waged protest campaign against the closure of textile units for three days a week, forcing Sui Gas Company to dwindle the span to two days. But, the industrialists declined to capitulate to this schedule as well.
Industrialists demanded one-day closure of gas in a week’s time and that the gas shortfall be equally distributed across the country.
However, Sui Gas Company again discontinued the gas supply from today for two days. Reacting to this, the industrialists expressed their resolve that they would not shut down their factories and workplaces, adding if the gas supply to their factories is forcibly disconnected, then string of protests will once again be jump-started.
Meantime, the representatives of industrials organizations have been called in Islamabad today, where Chamber of Commerce President Sheikh Abdul Qayyum along with his 18-strong delegation will call on Petroleum Minister Naveed Qamar and Minister for Textile Rana Farooq Saeed.
