OMNI group refutes news regarding Majeed’s arrest

No one relating to the OMNI Group attempted to fly out of Pakistan, nor was any one arrested/questioned at the airport, says a press release

OMNI group refutes news regarding Majeed’s arrest

KARACHI: OMNI Group has categorically refuted the news regarding the arrest of Anwar Majeed —said to be a close aide of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari who returned to Pakistan on Friday.

In a press release, the group stated, “No one relating to the OMNI Group attempted to fly out of Pakistan, nor was any one arrested/questioned at the airport.”

Press release said that no house located in DHA area belonging to Anwar Majeed or his family was raided by any law enforcement agency today or before.

Group’s statement further said that the OMNI group, Anwar Majeed and family do not deal with any illegal arms/ammunition for any purpose whatsoever.

Earlier, it was reported that law enforcement agencies (LEAs) allegedly conducted a raid at the house of Majeed in Defence Housing Authority Phase 8 area, in the early hours of Sunday.
