QUETTA: Capital City Police Officer Quetta Abid Notkani has demanded to provide resources to Quetta police including latest weapons and vehicles to take stern action against anti-peace elements and to control lawlessness in the city.
According to statement issued on Sunday, he said some culprits involved in target killing, kidnapping for ransom and robberies had been nabbed. He said the arrested suspects were being interrogated and they could disclose information about their gangs and network.
He said Quetta police needed latest weapons, vehicles and other resources to ensure peace in the metropolis. He noted different gangs were involved in heinous crimes including target killing and kidnapping for ransom.
He opined that the police would have no need assistance of the Frontier Corps to curb crimes if it is provided resources.
He said action was also being taken in the areas which were taken as "No Go Areas" in past. He urged the media and civil society to collaborate with police against crimes.
