ISLAMABAD: Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Friday.
During the meeting the prime minister emphasized that the Federal Government is focusing on development of both rural and urban Sindh. During the meeting the prime minister said, “with mutual consensus of all stakeholders, we acted for bringing peace in Karachi and by the grace of Almighty, law and order situation has substantially improved.”
The prime minister said that Governor Sindh should play an instrumental role and act as a bridge between the Federal Government and the Government of Sindh so that development initiatives are effectively implemented in time.
The Federal Government has initiated several energy, infrastructure and social sector projects for Sindh which include the Port Qasim Power Plant, Engro Thar Power project, Jhimpir Wind Power Project and Thar mine mouth oracle Project.
Just last week the prime minister inaugurated the completed section of Karachi to Hyderabad Motorway M-9 to facilitate people of Sindh. The government has also included the Karachi circular railway in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project while work on the green line mass transit project is also in full swing.
Governor Sindh thanked the Prime Minister for reposing trust in him and stated that he will perform his duties for the benefit of the people of Sindh and further strengthen the link between the Federal and Provincial Government.
