ISLAMABAD: Seven fishermen, stranded in Yemen for almost a decade, returned home to their families on Friday.
10 years ago, fishermen from Karachi and Balochistan coastline went out fishing, but lost their way. Unable to return, they found themselves in international waters, from where they were taken into custody and locked in the central jail of Yemen’s capital Sana'a.
However, following tireless efforts of the Foreign Office and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the nearly-hopeless men arrived in Islamabad after ages.

They were greeted at the airport by their loving families, whom they missed dearly over this 10-year period of no communication. Foreign Office and ICRC representatives accompanied the welcoming group.
