MQM-Pakistan revokes 13 party workers' membership

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Rabitta Committee on Saturday expelled 13 party workers over severe disregard of party decorum from its Labour Division.

According to a notification issued from MQM-Pakistan, those expelled from the party fold have no relation with MQM-Pakistan.

In December, MQM-Pakistan had ended basic membership of Ali Raza Abidi and directed him to resign from the National Assembly.

Although in January, party sources had informed that Abidi had rejoined the party.

On August 23, MQM Pakistan had distanced itself from controversial anti-Pakistan statements made by the party leadership in London, with Deputy Convener Farooq Sattar taking control of the party leadership.

Sattar had said that future party decisions would be made by the MQM Rabita Committee in Pakistan.

Since that time, the party has expelled several members over violation of party decorum.
