RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Bajwa on Sunday said visited South Waziristan Agency and spent day with troops deployed at forward posts, said the ISPR.
According to the Pakistan Army’s media cell, the GOC briefed the Army Chief about the security and stability situation in the Agency including border management and rehabilitation of TDPs.
The Army Chief expressed satisfaction over the operational gains, development works and measures for better border security management. He directed the troops to continue focusing on stability operations and socio-economic development for enduring peace in the area, said the ISPR.
The COAS also acknowledged and appreciated resolve of the tribal people and local administration for supporting the Army’s efforts, said the press release.
The ISPR said that the COAS said that Pak Army will continue its efforts to support the governmental process of mainstreaming FATA, according to the aspirations of the locals.
Earlier upon arrival, he was received by LT Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, Commander Peshawar Corps.
