PPP to release white paper on elections soon: Zardari
ISLAMABAD: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that his party had accepted election results with reservations and they will release white paper on it very soon.

Asif Ali Zardari was talking to journalists following meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman at latter’s residence on Sunday.

Zardari said everyone is aware how elections were held. He said PPP had accepted results with reservations, adding that he helped Nawaz Sharif for the cause of democracy.

Mr. Zardari said PPP has opposed 22nd Constitutional amendment, adding that his party had always supported the democracy. “We are determined to flourish democracy in the country”, he vowed.

Commenting on the meeting with Fazl, Asif Zardari said, “It is time of Senate Elections and we also exchange views on it.”

The former president further said Maulana Fazl, PPP and Awami National Party (ANP) are on the same page over Senate Election issue and also making efforts to bring Aftab Sherpao on one platform.

Zardari also dismissed rumours about differences with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying that what differences could be between the father and son. He said such rumours could be reasonable if he had three sons.

Maulana Fazl ruled out any major agenda of the meeting, saying that, “We discussed prevailing political situation.”
