KARACHI: A government team will enter negotiations with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) today in a bid to court support over Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST), Geo News reported Wednesday.
Two federal ministers have been tasked for the purpose.
The sources told Geo News that Federal Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh and Federal Interior Minister Rehman A Malik are arriving in Karachi to bring the MQM round over the RGST.
The negotiations are expected to be held at Governor House today with Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Farooq Sattar and Babar Khan Ghauri likely to attend on part of the MQM.
The sources told that various suggestions would be mulled over to achieve consensus on the RGST. Also, the MQM demands and proposals regarding tax sources will also be given thought.
