SHARJAH: Julien Fountain, Pakistan Cricket team's former fielding coach and currently the fielding coach of PSL team Quetta Gladiators, has confirmed that he will travel to Lahore if Quetta qualifies for the final of Pakistan Super League.
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Monday confirmed that it has the permission from government in hand to host PSL2017 final in Lahore, and Julien Fountain has termed this move as fantastic.
England based Fountain, who was first appointed Pakistan's specialist coach in 2006 under Bob Woolmer and then re-appointed for a two-year stint from 2012, told geo.tv that he's looking forward to visit Lahore for the final.
"I'm member of Quetta staff and if they make it to final, I will be traveling to Lahore. I have lived in Lahore and have many found memories of living there, so I'm really looking forward to it," he said when asked if he would visit to Lahore.
"Lahore is an amazing city, I really enjoyed my time there. Wonderful people, wonderful place. I really had good time so I'm looking forward to traveling lahore myself," said 46 year old Julien Fountain.
The QG fielding coach added that he has spoken to several players during the second edition of Pakistan Super League on his experience of living in Lahore but said that the decision of visiting Lahore would be entirely individual's choice.
"During this tournament (PSL) I have spoken to several international players and I have given my opinion. However, it will be down to them," he said.
The former baseball Olympian added that having Cricket back to Lahore is fantastic for people of the city and hoped that the fans in the historic city would get to see good standard of Cricket.
"It's fantastic that cricket is coming back to Pakistan, I hope and pray that we can bring good standard of Cricket to Lahore and we can put a good display to everybody," said Julien Fountain, who has also been in coaching staff of West Indies, England and Bangladesh.
